Error codes

Understanding error and warning codes

During normal operation, a Peblar charger continuously monitors itself to ensure safe and reliable charging. In some situations, this monitoring can result in an error or a warning.

Error codes always consist of 4 digits, while warning codes consist of 5 digits. An error means charging is stopped (or prohibited) to protect the charger, the installation or the vehicle. Warnings, on the other hand, do not necessarily prevent charging and are therefore not the same as errors.

When an error occurs, it is clearly communicated. You may see the error code on the charger display, in the web interface or in the connected back office and Connect Hub. In some cases, the charger also shows a blinking red LED.

In the table below, you’ll find a complete overview of all Peblar error codes, including their name, description, applicable firmware version and the recommended troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.

  1. Remove the cable from the chargers' socket. Swipe the RFID tag again, and reconnect the charging cable to both the EV and the charger.
  2. If the error persists, visually inspect the charging cable gun and socket to ensure that there are no obstructions visible, then try again.
  3. If the error persists, unlock the connector via OCPP or the ConnectHub, or via the web-interface, then try again.
  4. If the error persists, try to hard-reset the charger in the backoffice, reboot via the web-interface or the ConnectHub, or perform a power cycle.
  5. If the error persists, send an installer to visually inspect the cable, socket, and internal wiring to ensure that any cables are not interfering with the locking motor of the socket.

  2. Try to start a charging session.
  3. If the error persists, retrieve the diagnostics via the web-interface, or backoffice, and ask Peblar Customer Service for support.

  1. Disconnect the charging cable from the charger (for socket variants only).
  2. Connect the charging cable again in the EV, and try to start a charging session.
  3. If the error persists, try to hard-reset the charger in the backoffice, reboot via the web-interface or the ConnectHub, or perform a power cycle, and then try again.
  4. If the error persists, does the end-user experience issues when charging their EV more frequently?
    • If this is true, the EV most likely has issues. Please contact the EV-dealer for further support.
    • If this is not true, send an installer with a spare charging cable (for the exact model) and proceed with step 5.
  5. Change the charging cable, and try to start a charging session.
  6. If the error persists, retrieve the diagnostics via the web-interface, or backoffice, and ask Peblar Customer Service for support.
    • In this case, the EV most likely has issues. Please also contact the EV-dealer for further support

  1. Disconnect the charging cable from the EV and the charger, if applicable.
  2. Do not charge for at least 15 minutes, then try to start a charging session.

  1. Try to hard-reset the charger in the backoffice, reboot via the web-interface or the ConnectHub, or perform a power cycle.
  2. If this error still persists, and the installation is on an IT-/Delta-Grid (3-Phase without N), disable ground monitoring in the web-interface.
  3. If this error still persists, send an installer.
  4. Check whether the phases, neutral and ground are installed correctly. If this is not the case, install them correctly.
  5. If this error still persists, and the phases, neutral and ground are installed correctly, there might be an issue with the grounding of the location. Consult the grid operator to analyze the PE connection.

  1. Restart the charging session. It could be the case that the grid had a temporary PEN fault issue and that it is resolved by the time of restarting the charging session.
  2. If this error persists, consult the grid operator or send an electrician to analyze the PE connection.
