Error code 1004 means that the communication between the charger and the car over the control pilot line failed. The control pilot is the signal in the charging cable with which the car and the charger agree on the charging current. The charger stops the session until the communication is correct again.
What to do
On a socket model, unplug the charging cable from the charger. Plug the cable into the car again and start a new charging session.
If the error returns, reboot the charger from the web interface or Connect Hub, or ask your charge point operator to reset it from the back office. If the web interface is not reachable, perform a power cycle: switch off the power to the charger at the fuse box, wait a moment and switch it back on. Then try again.
Does this error occur more often with the same car, also at other chargers? Then the cause is most likely in the car. Contact your car dealer.
If it only happens at this charger, ask your installer to test with a different charging cable of the same type.
If the error persists, download the diagnostics of the charger and contact Peblar support or your installer.
